XN got a medal from the school for Malay Ejaan! We are so proud of her for this wonderful achivement.  

The pumpkin bits are clearly visible in the cake. The cake was not too sweet and and feel moist. 姑婆 adviced that it is better to keep the pumpkin for about 1 week before using it for the cake. Will try it again next time.

姑婆 baked a pumpkin cake for us today! DH helped to measure the flour too! The cake is still not ready at this time... but it looks good!

DY stayed over during the weekend. XN and DH was playing with him till late on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, they went over again. 

DY can now walk but he still likes to crawl. When walking in the garden path, he will also want to start crawling on the rough surface! No!

That's better, walking with Daddy and not crawling.  

He was also very interested in the mini badminton racket which he was holding on for a long time. 

Finally, when we were washing the car, he was also busy playing with the bucket of water and getting wet. 

Happy birthday DH! 

We brought cup cakes to his school for everyone! 

Mmmm, DH still does not know the names of his friends... 

At night, Grandpa bought another cake for our own mini celebration! 

XN recently went for a hair cut. 

She seems ok with it. 

 

After the haircut she still looks very nice, and it was time to open the presents!

DH also went for a hair cut on the same day too and he also did not resist it!

The next morning, we had the famous Kolok Mee for breakfast.  

This is how the relax corner looked like in day light. It felt even better sitting there with a cup of coffee in hand.


After breakfast, we went to the local market. The place was huge!  

Live bugs for snacks, anyone?  

These local plum tasted OK but there was very little meat because the seed inside was very big!  

Rambutans were in season when we were there and looked very tempting! Forgot to take pictures of the Midin, they were sold in small bunches about 10-15 sticks per bunch.  

We love Miri too! 

Went to Miri in Oct 2012. We took Airasia flying from Senai. The ticket was bought almost 1 year ago and finally we are here! 

The first thing to do after we land is to eat dinner. Since everyone was hungry we went for a restaurant which was not so crowded. DH and XN has started eating even before our order arrived!

The main item we ordered was a special vegetable that is only consumed in East Malaysia. Midin is the name. Tasted great! And hope we had more! But for the entire trip, this was the only time we ate this vegetable.

After dinner, we went back to the house and sat at a relaxing porch right in front of the house. It was one of the highlights of the trip! We really enjoyed the time spent at the corner.

However, DH had his own idea. He only enjoyed playing with his electronic pad. 

Went to Lego Land one raining evening.... it started pouring right after we enter the park. 

We were stuck in a Lego Kiosk and bought a plastic poncho for XN to walk in the rain.

She looked very bright in it. We returned home at about 6pm and had dinner at home. It was great to eat so early in the evening. We had a lot of time after that to play in the house.

We cooked simple lunch this afternoon. It was long beans, sausages, tomatoes and sauce. Yummy!

Nowadays when I ask DH where does he want to go for holiday? He will say Sabah... this absolutely cute dog is the reason! He was so afraid of the dog when we were there as it always want to lick him, but then he misses "Chairman" after we are back. 

The 2 looks very decent, good enough for passport photo.

DY came back to wish Grandma happy birthday! XN and DH was also very excited to see him again!

During dinner time DH was running around the table and DY was very curious. 

Finally during cake cutting time, DY had a group photo and he was very supportive by always looking at the camera!

We were invited to a wedding dinner in Melaka at the end of September. We knew about the trip a few months ago and were looking forward to visit Melaka again. On the way there, we stopped at Yong Peng for the famous fried mee. DH was already very hungry when we got there.

Jonker Street in Melaka has a lot of special items for sale. XN bought some pencils with very cute cartoons at the top for herself and some friends too. 

In a park at Jonker Street, there were a few brass statues that DH climbed on top for a ride.

On the way back to the hotel, DH and XN decided to take the trishaw instead of walking all the way back! It was a very warm day and it was a good choice because they were all very tired. 

At the wedding dinner, our family sat together in one table. Everyone was dressed up very nicely.

While waiting for the food to come, it was time to chit chat with everyone!

Everyone had lots of fun in Melaka. The hotel was newly renovated and it was a very pleasant stay.
