In the evening, we went to have the famous 芽菜雞. It was very very crowded, but we managed to find a place.
The 芽菜 is very crunchy. There is no where else in the country that can produce 芽菜 with this taste. May be it is the water from the Ipoh mountains that makes all the difference.
XN finished all her portion of 河粉. She wants to take a picture to show 大舅舅.
This is the most famous shop in the area!

After lunch, XN went to aunty's house to play while we went to Jusco to take a look. Aunty took XN to her friend's shop which later we went to pick XN. The shop happens to be just next to Jusco! DH now likes to play with everyone, including taking down all the decorations in the shops. Later in the evening, we went back to the Hotel to prepare for dinner. Ipoh is surrounded by tall mountains. The scenery around the area is very beautiful and very different from what we see at home which is near the sea.

We went out for lunch almost immediately after breakfast. We went to the usual Ipoh shops at 舊街場 for the 河粉. Infact, everything we orderd have 河粉 inside. DH also like the 河粉 and insist on holding on to his own spoon and feeding himself. This 炒粿條 has a coating of egg ouside.

From the hotel room we can see the Ipoh turf club. There are horses practicing in the morning. DH and XN is very much interested to see the horses walking around their stable.During breakfast, the food is very surprisingly nice. DH wakes up early and they already went down with grandma for the 1st round of breakfast. By the time XN is up it is already close to 9am. The breakfast area has a big fish pond and we can also see every floor! We took our time to have breakfast so that it is very relaxing. Anyway, we did not really plan to go site seeing so early.

DH cannot recognise aunty when we meet for dinner..... It took him a while to warm up to everyone. The iPad is a big hit with everyone.

Went to Ipoh to visit aunty. It took us about 7 hours just to reach Ipoh because we stopped regularly. We had lunch at the usual A&W which is as usual very crowded during the holiday season.
XN and DH love the fries. They also like the root beer because it is a cold drink. When we reached hotel it is already 5:30pm. All the hotel in Ipoh are fully booked, we had to settle for the Heritage Hotel which is actually very near to aunty's house and next to the express way exit.

We have set up the Christmas tree again! This year, it took us 3 days because of the lack of decor items and we have to buy new stocks - the theme this year is red and silver. Nice? In addition to the 6ft tall tree, there is also a mini tree so we have 2! XN was enjoying the entire process while luckily DH is not destroying the tree by pulling down those decor, he was throwing the balls to the floor when we were putting up the tree but he thought those were real balls. The Christmas card is hand made by XN in school. MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone who reads this blog and have a Blessed Christmas and Great New Year ahead!
