Just before we check out, we have time for some bubble session at the balcony.
As you can see, there is a big gap on the balcony railing which is dangerous for little ultra man.
One last shot just outside the hotel entrance.
At the petrol station just outside the hotel, XN and DH bought a lolly pop each, this is the first time DH is having a lolly pop and he refuse to let it go until he has finished the entire stick.
It is time for lunch at about 1pm, we stopped by the resort at Rompin. It is some what deserted on this Monday afternoon. There are about only 20 government officials at the restaurant having group lunch after some conference.
The deserted beach, perhaps there is no need to go so far to Kuantran. It is perfectly fine here too.
While waiting for our food to arrive, XN, DH and Grandpa took a stroll around the resort grounds. The facilities at the resort are rather basic. There is a pool and some chalets. The pool even has a water slide. However, the place does need some refurbishment to make them like new again.
The food finally came, some noodles, hor fun and also fried rice. The taste is only acceptable, considering we do not know where else to eat, this place is OK.
Granpa as usual is the first to finish his food. Since DH did not eat much, they started to walk around the restaurant area while waiting for the others to finish.
After Rompin, we stopped at Mersing. We went around the town area and saw a beach front area with a children's playground. Naturally, XN and DH wants to try out the local equipment.
DH can now climb up to the top of the slide and slid down on his own.
After the session at the playground, we found a coffee place to have some snacks. DH likes to eat the chocolate cake there and he has the stains on top of his mouth that makes him looked like a 小日本.
The shop is air conditioned, and the decor looks new. The bread and cakes are OK but not great. After Mersing, it took us another 2 hours to finally get home.

We are on our way to Kuntan Pahang for the weekend. It has always been in the planning stage until now. It is great that we can go out together as a family to the east coast which we seldom visit.
As usual, when it comes to taking photo, DH will automatically put on this classic post.
We stopped by a petrol Kiosk for toilet break just after Kota Tinggi. Grandpa bought ice cream for everyone.
For lunch, we stopped at Mersing. It is a small shop selling fish balls and some braised duck. The fish ball was very nice indeed.
There is no high way to Kuantan from the south. It is roads like this all the way. Some parts of the roads are like a roller coaster ride. But most part it is full of secondary forest on both sides. Cattle also roams on some parts, the cows can decide the cross the roads at anytime!
When we are between Rompin and Pekan, there is a stretch of roads which is right next to the beach. The beach is deserted as far as the eyes can see on the left and right!
Finally, we are near Kuantan, another pit stop. Since there is no high way, there is no PLUS toll rest area! Petrol station is the only place to stop for a rest.
Finally, we have reached the hotel. It is right at the end of Telok Cempedak, a popular beach for the locals during the weekends. It also has 2 fast food chains which is always full of people.
The hotel club residence has a private drive way, which makes it very exclusive. The hotel grounds are right next to a forest area, it is very secluded.
The cocktail hour at the club lounge is not exactly having very nice food, but it will do for for DH and XN.
XN samples some of the food but it is surely no enough. That night, we went out and came back with some fast food for everyone.
After some food, it is time to hit the beach with some sand action. Watch out XN! DH is going to erase your drawing!
The waves at the beach front is mild at this time of the year. The sand quality is not as good as desaru. The bay is about 1 km wide, which makes it very pleasant to walk between both ends.
Next day, we went to lunch at a shop located at an industrial area, it is famous for its shark meat. Google introduced this restaurant to us.
After lunch, we went back to the hotel. DH and XN went to sleep in the room, and we took some time off at the club lounge.
Our room has a balcony view of the forest next to the hotel, it is very green indeed. Nice and quiet.
There are 2 pools at the hotel.
The design of the hotel is very much like the one in Bali. Both were built in the early 70s.
The room, it is not the best. But at least the air-con is cool and the bed is firm and comfortable.

This year's Mid Autumn Festival falls on a Monday. We had a simple celebration at home with just a few lanterns.
Perhaps this year's lanterns was not as numerous as compared to last year, but XN and DH did enjoy the event at home in the dark!

XN went for a colouring contest with her cousin this Sunday. Those professional contestants brought along their own mini tables and chairs, it is serious business!
Wow, so many contestants. Can you see where are both of them?
After the event we went to eat lunch at the Sushi King restaurant near by. The plates can really pile up with four kids eating at the table!
The mess after lunch, the green beans are a big hit with the children. DH ate a lot of it too.
After lunch, it is time to go back. We went to the side of the building to wait for the transportation to arrive.
