We are on our way to Kuntan Pahang for the weekend. It has always been in the planning stage until now. It is great that we can go out together as a family to the east coast which we seldom visit.
As usual, when it comes to taking photo, DH will automatically put on this classic post.
We stopped by a petrol Kiosk for toilet break just after Kota Tinggi. Grandpa bought ice cream for everyone.
For lunch, we stopped at Mersing. It is a small shop selling fish balls and some braised duck. The fish ball was very nice indeed.
There is no high way to Kuantan from the south. It is roads like this all the way. Some parts of the roads are like a roller coaster ride. But most part it is full of secondary forest on both sides. Cattle also roams on some parts, the cows can decide the cross the roads at anytime!
When we are between Rompin and Pekan, there is a stretch of roads which is right next to the beach. The beach is deserted as far as the eyes can see on the left and right!
Finally, we are near Kuantan, another pit stop. Since there is no high way, there is no PLUS toll rest area! Petrol station is the only place to stop for a rest.
Finally, we have reached the hotel. It is right at the end of Telok Cempedak, a popular beach for the locals during the weekends. It also has 2 fast food chains which is always full of people.
The hotel club residence has a private drive way, which makes it very exclusive. The hotel grounds are right next to a forest area, it is very secluded.
The cocktail hour at the club lounge is not exactly having very nice food, but it will do for for DH and XN.
XN samples some of the food but it is surely no enough. That night, we went out and came back with some fast food for everyone.
After some food, it is time to hit the beach with some sand action. Watch out XN! DH is going to erase your drawing!
The waves at the beach front is mild at this time of the year. The sand quality is not as good as desaru. The bay is about 1 km wide, which makes it very pleasant to walk between both ends.
Next day, we went to lunch at a shop located at an industrial area, it is famous for its shark meat. Google introduced this restaurant to us.
After lunch, we went back to the hotel. DH and XN went to sleep in the room, and we took some time off at the club lounge.
Our room has a balcony view of the forest next to the hotel, it is very green indeed. Nice and quiet.
There are 2 pools at the hotel.
The design of the hotel is very much like the one in Bali. Both were built in the early 70s.
The room, it is not the best. But at least the air-con is cool and the bed is firm and comfortable.
